- Licensed Marriage Family Therapist #29292
I first knew I wanted to be a therapist when I was in high school. I went to college and got my degree in Psychology and then went on to get my Master’s degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. When I first started counseling in 1988 I worked at a center for children/teens who had been abused and for their non-offending parent/s. Since then, I have continued to focus on trauma therapy with children, teens and adults. In addition, I really enjoy working with women of all ages in helping them to develop an understanding of themselves with themselves, their families and with God. There is great fulfillment for me in helping a person to grow into whom God really made them to be, despite the circumstances of their lives.
I have been at Selah Counseling Services for over a decade now and am continuing to enjoy and grow with my colleagues and my clients. It is a privilege to be a part of this field and of this organization.
- Marriage Family Therapist Intern #79433
I am a therapist that is passionate about partnering with individuals and providing a safe atmosphere from where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions. I have a cognitive-behavior based approach, but I also strongly believe that healing and growth happen in the context of relationship and connection where our unique gifts and our divine identity is reflected back to us. As we progress on this journey, clients often experience breakthrough with new energy, creativity, and imagination. Relational growth and intimacy is also discovered, leading to a life lived with intention and new possibilities. I enjoy working with a diverse population but also have a special interest in working with female clients and empowering them to explore distinct strengths women bring to professional and personal relationships.
